Storyline 2 Interface Tutorial
Design Inspiration
My inspiration for this design came as I was preparing to teach professors how to use Storyline to add more interactivity and engagement to their online courses. Most college online courses are heavily text-based. This short tutorial was created so professors could become familiar with the interface before coming to my face-2-face 3-hour training session.
Content Decisions
So, the content was developed in an effort to share numerous instructional strategies that could be used with Storyline. Professors are extremely busy so I wanted to demonstrate as much as I could in a very short time frame. I also provided a Job Aid for them to use after my training session to help them remember how to perform some of the basic steps to using this authoring tool. In an effort to sell the benefits of using this tool, I provided each professor with a printout of the course to show how using the Notes Panel is a great way to prepare for audio recordings, if they used Storyline to build a presentation, or if they needed to print out the lesson/module for a student who could benefit from the detailed notes.
The training was a HUGE success and they are biting at the bit to learn more! I'm in the process of developing their continuing education with this tool well into the fall.
